I have had psoriasis in my scalp for 47 years. I have always went to dermatologist for treatments of the scalp and body. There are over the counter tar shampoos that I have used in the pass that have worked. I would try different ones and see what works. If all else fells, see a dermatologist.

My father has severe Psoriasis and I just gave a presentation on this in my Esthetics class last week. Psoriasis is an auto-immune disorder so be careful what you are eating. I would stay away from beef, chicken & pork since those are the 3 biggest meat sources from our delightful Factory Farms. They are pumped with antibiotics and even Dr. Oz had a show a couple of weeks ago and revealed that no one really knows how many antibiotics chickens are given. They are however resistant to the top 5 antibiotics on the market.
If you are auto-immune that means that when a foreign antigen is introduced to your body, your natural antibodies come out to take care of that PLUS good cells… killing them too. So, just be careful what animal products you ingest (including cow’s milk).
